True or False?

Although Halloween officially occurs under the sign of Scorpio at the end of the month, the spirit of this rise of darkness is coming alive already. And life may go beyond parties and dressing up for fun. It may be that people are hiding behind a mask to avoid dealing with who they really are, purposely pretending to be something they are not because of a personal agenda or completely unconscious to either possibility within themselves or in others around them. 

Libra is not just about socializing, love and finding peace and balance. The shadow side of Libra's is that it also rules open enemies and the way we relate to others to keep or get what we desire. For good or bad, everybody uses everybody for something whether in work, love or war. True or False?

So with all the intense planetary aspects leading up to the New Moon this Friday, Oct. 4th, finding the strength and power to see through all the charades will be a life saver this week.

Things kick off with the Mercury in Scorpio exactly trine to Neptune in Pisces. This lovely aspect can allow for powerful, creative, beautiful story telling. The question will be, is it truth or is it fiction? Fantasy by design for creative purpose or false information to manipulate and deceive?

As I said last week, Mercury in Scorpio will bring communication and thought to a much deeper level. Once smaller issues now begin to feel much more serious and will take on a life or death tone.  And because of this intensity, the enhancing trine to Neptune could drive things in either direction. It could give rise to the surrender of verbal mud-slinging and launch the beginning of more peaceful talks or it could fuel the illusion of a war that doesn't really exist and make life a living hell. Sacrifices must be made for the health of all, but who is willing to make them? We can all just look to Washington to watch how this aspect plays out on a grand scale.

Then on the 2nd there is a tough t-square between the Sun in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries both squaring Pluto in Capricorn. This is being felt and seen already and could bring about sudden crushing blows to the ego. Here we are confronted with harsh truths and reality checks that can send us running for the hills like a lunatic from an insane asylum. Again, we can look to the craziness going on in Washington. But this will also manifest very powerfully on a personal level and can invoke major changes in our lives.   

By the time the New Moon in Libra hits on Friday, we may already be hunkering down with our allies to lick our wounds and begin working out how to negotiate a tough situation. This is a good move. Retreat for safety so we don't make matters worse. While in seclusion, it's important to remember that Libra is one of those dualistic signs that shows us there are two sides to every story.  We learn about ourselves by looking in the mirror as well as through our reflection in another. So we can't leave ourselves out of the equation by playing the blame game or nobody wins. It's time to take responsibility for the roles we play in creating our own reality.  

And speaking of responsibility, Saturn in Scorpio is butting heads as an inconjunct with Uranus in Aries during all this madness too. Think of oil and water. So this sends the message that we must uncover the ugly truths in our own lives that hold us back before we can build the beautiful life we fantasize about every day. And one very harsh reality is that sometimes the only way we will make real changes in our lives is when the rug is ripped out from under us and we are forced to. True or False?

Sounds like a battle field of challenging energy this week I know, but believe it or not, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. By Sunday the 6th of Oct. Mercury in Scorpio is conjunct the North Node of destiny and will be making a positive sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, which assures us that after the destruction and the smoke clears, the truth really does set us free to rebuild stronger, bigger and better.   

Revealing and facing the truth of how our own minds can work for or against us can begin to provide the freedom we need to build our lives with real honesty and purpose. IF we are willing to open our eyes, confront not just our opposition, but ourselves, we just might be able to all heal. And yes, Libra is about open enemies, but remember that what we see in the world and in our relationships is simply a reflection of the reality going on within. The enemy is really within. And that is the battle that must be won before we can move forward together.

You will hear lots more about the Libra/Aries opposition because it will be in play for the next six months. So keep this in the back of your mind. We will all be repeatedly presented with opportunities to realize who we really are, the roles we play in life, how much we need each other and how much more we can accomplish together than we can alone. Negotiation, compromise, honesty and respect are each a MUST for REAL partnerships to survive. True or False?

So in the spirit of Halloween with all the ghosts, goblins and ghouls coming out this month, when you are feeling lost, confused, scared and can't see what's real; trust your instincts to guide you and use compassion and love to see that good can be found in even the darkest of places.
